We support industry-academia collaboration based on the needs of companies, from searching for technological seeds, which are the missing pieces of companies, to proposing new business areas and creating new ecosystems. More specifically, a management organization comprised of highly specialized human resources will supply “advanced management skills” that can be met by corporate partners. We will provide powerful support for joint research with companies through “collaborative innovation with a wide range of research fields” in collaboration with various departments and research institutes at the university.
In order to support joint research between companies and universities from various perspectives, the IOI Organization provides comprehensive support functions, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, and advanced security functions that safely protect corporate confidentiality. For example, in a collaborative research agreements traditionally followed have not been optimized and took a long time, but expert staff from the Organization went through negotiations, and in a short period of time with content specially tailored such collaboration is now possible.
Through joint research, we will focus even more on the realization of social implementation and will continue to enhance its functions. Collaborative research as an expansion of corporate research is an image of expanding one of the research departments within the company to the University of Tokyo.
